Camperdown Park Dub Circle

Camperdown Park speaks this November when DJ Semper-Fi and Gabrielle Bates combine skills to create Dub Circle-The Dark Procession. Part of EDGE Newtown, the site activation will turn the historic rotunda into a sound beacon that calls to the spirits and critters of the park. Every element of the work is sourced from the local community and park itself, allowing the park to respond with a dark Dub dance and procession you won’t want to miss.

This is a multifaceted, multi-generational visual, audio and performance project by Gabrielle Bates and DJ Semper-Fi, co-created with children from Nnoosh Aftercare, Marrickville High School and Dulwich Hill School of Visual Art and Design, using sounds sampled entirely from Camperdown. Join a procession with giant masked creatures and wear black.

This project has been made possible with an Inner West Council Arts & Cultural Grant.
