They’ve done it again. Ice-cream and gelato experts Pure Gelato (Croydon Park) and Cow and the Moon (Enmore) have won the highly coveted blue ribbon, best-in-show, first prize and the Sydney Royal Easter Show 2021.
Long time veterans of the gelato making and award winning, the popular Inner West businesses are proud of their achievements. The Cow and the Moon won Champion Gelato for their Madagascan Vanilla Bean Gelato and said “People often pay out their friend for being plain and ordering Vanilla, but in fact,there’s nothing better than a true, pure vanilla gelato. It should never be underestimated as its unique characteristics and complexities are quintessential to so many processes in producing quality gelato. It is truly the ‘Nectar of the Gods’ as they say! The competition awards excellence and drives the Australian dairy industry forward by benchmarking produce. It is judged on a point-based system awarding Gold, Silver and Bronze medals to those that receive over a certain benchmark score. The Gold medal recipients in each class are then re-judged to identify each Champion product.
