Gigs guide – 232

Friday 2nd May
Bitter Sweet Kicks

First thing I heard about this band was that they have a penchant for sweat, beer, nudity and boisterous performances. Turns out that’s really true; their bassist likes to play with nothing on other than socks and his guitar strap. They play some heavy blues, seems like
a lot of fun for a live show.

The Roller Den, $13.80

Saturday 3rd May
Owen Campbell

You may recognise this man from 2012’s Australia’s Got Talent where he was originally rejected for being wittier than the judges, despite his obvious talent. Since then he has been touring his album, demonstrating his beautiful soul-filled slide guitar music. Very Americana and damn fine music.

Camelot Lounge, $15

Wednesday 7th May
Dizzee Rascal

British rapper Dizzee Rascal (pictured above) is coming back to Australia. I always found English rappers to sound a little ridiculous but if you are a fan and you can’t make it to this year’s Groovin the Moo, don’t miss this show.

Enmore Theatre, $84.10
