NSW Grandparents Day in the Inner West Inner West Council will celebrate the role grandparents and older people play in our society during NSW Grandparents Day in late October. Grandparents Day recognises the diversity of grandparent relationships across age groups, cultural backgrounds, and geographical locations. Council recognises that contemporary families rely more than ever on grandparents for love, nurture and care. The Grandparent Day celebrations will reflect this. In particular, the Inner West events are intergenerational, because creating opportunities for children and older adults to spend time together can reap enormous benefits. The Grandparents Day activities have two strong themes: they are inclusive, and they are culturally significant.
