The Laser Lounge in Balmain offers services in laser hair removal, skin treatments, cosmetic injections and more. Amanda Pestana, the Balmain clinic’s owner, says she’s “over the moon” to be a finalist in this year’s Inner West local business awards. We talked to her about the most rewarding part of her work, and the customers that make it all worthwhile.
How do you feel about being a finalist?
It is such a fantastic feeling and we are just truly blessed to have such wonderful clients who we get to treat everyday.
What do you most enjoy about your work?
Seeing results! I am results driven. And also not having a typical 9pm – 5pm office job. I love coming into work and having a great chat with clients.
What is the nicest thing a client has said?
Clients will always comment on our level of customer service. We truly care about our clients, not only by delivering them the best results, but ensuring that they are always leaving the clinic happy. I will never forget a customer from ten years ago: a teenage girl in high school who was suffering from hirsutism, with excessive hair on her face. After her course of treatments ended she broke down and cried — she told me I had changed her life and she was forever grateful. I still think about this client and wonder how she is. But that is what makes my job so rewarding. It is more than just aesthetics for some people.
What sets your business apart from other laser clinics?
The clinic is owner operated, we have little staff turnover, all our staff are laser safety certified and we are partnered with The Australasian academy of cosmetic dermal science where we train nurses and doctors in the industry. We are also a growing brand so we invest a lot of time delivering the best of the best in terms of treatments and quality. I have also worked in this industry for many many years, so I am able to share my knowledge with my staff
What are some memorable moments or achievements of your business?
Being a finalist two years in a row for the awards, partaking in lots of charity work and being able to give back.
What does the future hold for Laser Lounge?
Hopefully another clinic, and stay tuned for lots of new advanced treatments that are coming soon

Absolutely! From the bottom of my heart I thank you. Without you all I wouldn’t have a business. We will continue to uphold our service to you, and we promise to deliver much more soon.
