Reality TV star breaks into the Internet

Drummoyne actor and songstress, India-Rose Madderom, of X-factor stage will be starring in, and directing, a new web-series that showcases the beauty of Sydney’s Inner West and surrounds.

Inspired by TV series such as Nashville and Glee, which incorporate live music into serial narratives, the web series will follow a singer as she plugs away at the fame game in Inner Sydney.

India-Rose, who co-wrote the series with her partner Robert O’Reilly, said she was looking for a project that would combine her love of acting and singing.

“Both have their hardships, I feel like I have chosen the two most difficult careers. I am hoping the  webseries will make the best of both worlds,” Madderom said.

Unknown to many X-factor fans who were spellbound by her talent as a vocalist, Madderom’s career path as always been directed towards acting.

“As a child I always loved singing, and was in the school choir. But I never have had any formal training in it – just because it was not something I thought of pursuing. But after being on X-Factor I realised how much I loved it.”

Musical theatre actor, Stephen Mahy, will star alongside Madderom in the series – as will local haunts in Camperdown and Newtown.

Spotlight starts being filmed this week and is projected to be released online sometime in May. You can follow the production process at www.facebook.com/spotlighttheseries
