One of the best-kept secret outdoor spaces in Sydney is having a block party.
Since throwing open its doors just over a year ago, Redfern Surf Club has quickly become the neighbourhood’s new favourite watering hole. Now, for one day only, the team will be transforming their enormous outdoor car park into a free all-day party for everyone to enjoy.
As the heat rises and the days get longer, there’s no better way to celebrate summer than to spill outside for a mini-festival full of good mates, live DJs, pop-up bars and great food.
To keep the tunes going strong for 12 glorious hours, the RSC team has put together their dream block party line-up. Sydney stalwarts Jack Shit, Le Fruit x Mr Friendly and Bea Goode will be setting the temperature early on with steamy, tropical tunes. If you can think of an album with a pineapple on the cover, it’s a pretty safe bet they’ll be playing it. Then, party-starters Ariane, Purple Sneakers DJs and Shantan Wantan Ichiban will guide you from a sunny afternoon in the courtyard to a sweaty, bumping house party after dark. The right way to roll into summer.
Kicking off at noon, the block party vibe will be complete with lucky door prizes and even an old-school handball comp for those bold enough to test their skill. Don’t forget – this is a one-day-only affair, with the car park turning back into a proverbial pumpkin the next day.
