Renovating or building a new home? Marrickville Council can tell you how it can be done in an environmentally friendly way…

On Wednesday 26th June from 6:30pm to 8pm at Herb Greedy Hall, Marrickville Council is holding a seminar for local renovators to find out more about design features and material choices that make their homes as resource-smart as possible. On top of residential construction, Council is also promoting environmental responsibility among businesses, schools and community groups in the area, all of which support the singular idea of sustainability.

This initiative owes itself to the actions of locals, with Marrickville Mayor Victor Macri stating, “Our community has told us that one of the big picture areas they want us to focus on achieving is a well planned, sustainable and accessible urban environment.” He continued by saying that “when we work together to minimise our ecological footprint and sustainability, then we improve our area’s liveability, and reflect the expectations and changing needs of our community.”
