From master filmmaker Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name, I Am Love, A Bigger Splash) comes a reinterpretation of the iconic giallo horror by Dario Argento.
The year is 1977 and West Berlin is gripped by the ongoing terrorist negotiations between police and the Baader-Meinhof group. American dancer Susie Bannion (Dakota Johnson) arrives in the city as residents exist on the edge of panic, no longer certain of whom to trust. Successfully auditioning for revered choreographer Madame Blanc (Tilda Swinton), Susie is put up in the living quarters of another dancer who has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Exhibiting a strength and skill that transfixes Blanc, Susie begins a regime of training that will prepare her not only for the stage, but for something far more sinister.
