The NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout 2016 is being held at Leichhardt Oval this weekend. The first Koori Knockout took place in 1971. It now involves 130 teams from around NSW. Last year the Redfern All Blacks won both the men’s and women’s competitions, giving them the right to host this year’s game. Local Aboriginal artist Blak Douglas (AKA – Adam Hill), completed this mural next to Leichhardt Town Hall to mark the Knockout’s arrival.
Junior and women’s games will be taking place on September 30th, men’s games on October 1st-2nd and all finals on October 3rd.
