Mother’s little helper

Hispanic Artistic Expression is presenting the exciting new theatrical production of Argentine dramedy, Conversations with Mother. Don’t miss the Australian premiere, showing at La Sala in Rozelle.
Adapted by Catalan playwright Jordi Galceran, Conversations with Mother is based on a winning film from the Moscow International Film Festival and has been staged in at least 10 countries. Telling the story of Jorge – a middle-aged man who tries to sell the apartment that his 72-year-old mother is living in, after he finds himself jobless and penniless – this is a moving and hilarious play that explores the serious issue of society’s neglectful attitude towards the elderly, without losing its sense of humour.

Performed in Spanish with English subtitles, Conversations with Mother will be playing until Sunday 1st September, on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 6pm. Tickets are $30 or $25 for concessions – book by calling  8094 8310 or visiting www.hispanicartistic.org. La Sala: 134a Victoria Rd, Rozelle.

• To WIN a double pass to watch Conversations with Mother, see our Giveaways page for details.
