There’s something afoot in Daylesford’s east end. Artist Bromley & Co has moved into the neighbourhood, the vintage railway now calls ‘all aboard’, and dreams have come true for visitors to the iconic Farmers Arms who have for decades hankered for the return of sleeping quarters to this end of Spa Country.
“Patrons of the pub have been pleading with proprietors for decades for a place to rest their weary heads,” says current owner Mitch Duncan.
He’s heeded the call by heralding in the Farmers Arms motel-style suites, boutique accommodation that’s been elegantly designed to welcome complete eat, drink and sleep experiences up this end of town.
Since 1857, this charming country pub has been feeding hungry locals and travellers. Today the collaborative kitchen, headed by Chris Timmins, serves up gourmet delights seven days a week from a seasonal menu that showcases local produce and suppliers.
The iconic hotel maintains its character with long-standing traditions like the classic Friday night raffle. But it’s not afraid of new forays either; growing grapes at Daylesford’s only vineyard and launching the brand spanking luxe accommodation.
Think modern décor and plush furnishings, all decked out with original art curated for these walls. The Farmers Arms Hotels Daylesford is the perfect base for a romantic getaway, destination wedding or a wellbeing weekend. From here it’s a quick drive to the cidery, chocolate factory and mineral spa – or about twenty paces from cosy dining room hospitality to your own heavenly bed.
Take the trip to see what’s rising in Daylesford’s east.
