Brilliant blend
Kangarilla Road 2013 Duetto

Duetto is Italian for a musical performance by two artists but in this case it refers to a blend of two unusual, but increasingly popular, white grape varieties; vermentino, originally from Sardinia, and fiano, which originates in Campagna.

They have been combined in this McLaren Vale offering to produce a textural, interesting and refreshing wine that is extremely food friendly.

Cracking rosé
Spy Valley 2013 Pinot Rosé

This is a delightful New Zealand rosé, made entirely from pinot noir grapes, that outshone several Australian wines with big reputations at a recent tasting.

Bright cherry aromas and flavours play the lead role here with imperceptible oak adding structure.

A bright and lively style of dry wine with brisk acid, it is ideal for autumn enjoyment and best served chilled with tapas or maybe a mezze plate.

Touch of spice
The Little Wine Company 2013 Gewurz

Hunter Valley-based duo Ian and Suzanne Little work wonders with the Alsace grape variety gewurztraminer.

After 20 years of experimenting with the variety, in this case grown in the Goulburn Valley of Victoria, they are in the zone with a wine that offers varietal rose petal/Turkish Delight/spice characters but finishes crisp and dry.

A delightful companion for spicy Asian dishes.

$22.
