A new bar called Tocky

Glebe icon gets a makeover.

An inner west favourite has a new roof terrace for summer, Winsor Dobbin reports. The Toxteth Hotel, an iconic Glebe pub, has just launch a roof terrace with spectacular city views and glimpses of Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The pub, affectionately known as the ‘Tocky’, has unveiled the Tocky Terrace where locals can enjoy food and drinks – as well as a bottomless brunch. With downstairs dedicated to casual drinks, dining and live sports, the Tocky Terrace aims to offer a more sophisticated experience with micro cement bars and plush booths with terrazzo tiles.

Panoramic windows overlook the skyline and there is a retractable roof. With Christmas just a couple of months away the Tocky Terrace on Glebe Point Road is taking bookings for festive get-togethers and New Year’s Eve parties.

The versatile destination has been designed to host a range of functions and events with a capacity of 250 and a range of flexible floor plans.

The Toxteth partners with a collective of suppliers for its food and drink menus including Accolade Wines, Clarity Cru, Pacdon Park Artisan Butchers and Oatley Fine Wine Merchants.

With an emphasis on sharing plates, menu standouts include tuna ceviche, Hokkaido scallops, crispy cauliflower bites and creamy burrata and sourdough.

A weekend highlights is the Tocky’s rooftop bottomless brunch ($85pp), an indulgent menu of steak frites, blue swimmer crab gnocchi, colourful salads and sides and free-pouring of tipples including mimosas, sparkling wine, 4 Pines Pacific Ale and the brunch classic: Bloody Marys.

“Our goal with the new Tocky Terrace was to create a unique rooftop gastro-pub experience within the inner west,” says owner Michael Waugh.

“ We are delighted with its modern aesthetic and lively atmosphere, which brings a new dimension and young community to the Toxteth Hotel.”

The Tocky Terrace is open Monday to Thursday 10am–midnight, Friday and Saturday 10am-1am and Sunday 11am-10pm. call (02) 9660 2370 or visit toxtethhotel.com.au to book.
