“I’m Grace Truman, 16 year-old co-creator and lead actress in the award-winning web series GRACEFUL, amazing Grace, Series 2.
Our story so far… When I was ten, my Dad died suddenly, leaving just my Mum and me. My Dad, Jeff Truman, was amazing – warm, funny, smart and generous. He was an AWGIE winning scriptwriter, as well as an actor. Not long after he died, I confided to Mum (Director/Producer Julie Money) that I was losing my memories of him. So, together we decided that the best way to remember my Dad would be to create a web series that celebrated him”.
Grace’s work in the series has been recognised internationally, and she has been nominated – Best Actress Miami Web Fest, Best Rising Star Asia Web Awards and Best Starlet Seriesland Bilbao. The series stars Justine Clarke and showcases young actors from Balmain – making it almost an Inner West original.
Grace made her professional theatre debut in 2018 in the world premiere of “Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam” for the National Theatre of Parramatta. For this she was nominated as Best Newcomer at the Sydney Theatre Awards. She performed with the Bell Shakespeare Company in “Titus Andronicus” and reprised her role in “Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam” for its 2020 season at Belvoir Theatre. She is also featured in the book “Stand Up for the Future – A Celebration of Inspirational Young Australians” published by Penguin Random House.
