Official Opening and Australian Defence Force Day
The Iconic Grand Parade will set the scene for the official opening of the Show. One of the largest choreographed displays of animals in the world, the Parade is a silent homage to our Sydney Royal Competition competitors, but stay quiet! Our four-legged participants are used to life on the farm, so instead of applauding, watch in awe as the best of the best in Australian agriculture make their way around the main arena in a spectacular heritage- filled procession at 5.20pm! Any currently serving members of the Australian Defence Force can attend the Show for free on the day. Saturday 13 April at 5.20pm.
Butchers’ Challenge
Watch 15 apprentice butchers go head to head as they race against the clock to dress a carcase and prepare a range of different meat cuts. Wednesday 17 April at the Cattle Lawns.
Whipcracking Championships
Be blown away by the sound of a sonic boom and the talent of the best whipcrackers in Australia at the Whipcracking Championships in the Woodchop pavilion on the last day of the Show. Tuesday 23 April.
Goat Yoga
Feel at one with the earth, your mind and goat! If you’ve ever wanted to
practice vinyasa with a curious goat by your side, then this is the class for you. Friday 19 April
Thank A Farmer Day
For every ticket purchased or Showlink pass scanned on Monday 15 April, $1 will be donated to the RAS Foundation to go towards a rural or regional project. Come and chat to a farmer about what really goes into growing the food and fibre we use every day and support the RAS in reaching its $30,000 goal. Monday 15 April.
Aquaculture
The first day of the Show will honour the traditions of local agricultural shows and produce markets around Australia as the Sydney Royal Find Food Show celebrates heritage, quality, provenance and innovation. Visit the Di Costi’s stand in the morning to see aquaculture products from around Australia being judged and enjoy cooked prawns, oysters, fresh fish, cured salmon/trout, caviar and more! Friday 12 April.
