The Alliance Française French Film Festival, which will be celebrating its 32nd year in 2021, is the biggest and most popular multi-cultural film event in Australia – it’s also the largest celebration of French Cinema outside of France!
For this year’s Alliance Française French Film Festival, 37 films have been selected “that will make you dream, laugh and cry.” Festival Director, Karine Mauris has curated a festival which she says is “featuring a rich and colourful tapestry of characters with stories larger than life.”
After a challenging year, the Alliance Française French Film Festival returns which an avalanche of films that push emotional and theatrical boundaries, digging deep into what makes French film so unique. Films such as Eiffel (which opens the Festival) and The Man Who Sold His Skin, an intriguing tale about art and human rights, are films that should be considered gifts to international film circles.
The festival also pays tribute to female directors. In 2021, there are more female directors than ever before, and the female characters are talented (Aline), fierce (The Rose Maker), free-minded (The Godmother) elegant (Appearances), and as bubbly as champagne (Antoinette in the Cévennes).
