A bleak grey landmark building in Glebe (Forest Lodge) is to receive a facelift with a mural based on an award winning Children’s book. The building was once home to Aussie swimwear brand Sue Rice.
The drab grey face of 48 Ross St Glebe, a heritage building on the corner of Ross St and Bridge Road, just opposite a local Primary school, will be painted with inspiring, colourful images of children reading books.
Award winning children’s author Peter Carnavas was delighted to have his book ‘The Children who loved Books’, chosen for the design.
The building is home for New Frontier and Little Steps Publishing (children’s book publishers) and they hope the new mural will lift the spirits of passers by. Maybe even encourage a bit more reading.
Mural painting this weekend (4th and 5th of May). Drop by and check it out.
