The world’s first fully oil painted feature film.
Every frame of Loving Vincent, totalling around 65,000, is an oil painting hand-painted by 125 professional artists who travelled from around the world to be a part of the production.
Loving Vincent tells the story of Vincent van Gogh, whose ill-fated life was as remarkable and dramatic as his brilliant paintings. Variously labelled a martyr, a lustful satyr, a madman, a genius and a layabout, he became a figure of unparalleled importance in the history of modern art. In his last letter, van Gogh himself wrote, “We cannot speak other than by our paintings.”
This is a film that lets paintings speak. Loving Vincent is in selected cinemas (including Dendy Opera Quays) from Nov 2.
