Market attraction

Sydney’s inner west will have a new shopping drawcard when the Burwood Winter Market makes its debut in Burwood Park, Burwood, from 9am- 3pm on Saturday, June 8. The market promises a diverse range of fashion, art, crafts, homewares, kids’ products, candles, gifts, food, and more.

Attendees are also promised “delicious international cuisine,” along with live music and activities for children. “Winter is a great time for markets,” said Cambridge Markets director Rebecca Starr.

“The weather in Sydney is gorgeous, making it a perfect time for people to gather, shop, and enjoy outdoor dining.

“We take pride in discovering and selecting the finest small businesses to feature at our markets. There are so many talented individuals creating amazing products, and we love connecting them with our large audiences.”

Shoppers will find original jewellery from Alrok and Antonia Scales, locally made spirits from Finders Distillery, candles from Four Sparks and Lee & Rose, homewares by Johnson & Savage, children’s clothing from Jersey Brothers, jumbo doughnuts from MAD DOUGH, mocktails by Bubble Bar as well as fresh floral arrangements by the Field Florals.

Hot food on the day will includes gozlemes from Authentic Turkish Gozleme, French crepes from Cut the Crepes, Italian specialties from AMI Pizza, Japanese savoury pancakes by Maido Okonomiyaki and burgers from Yummy Egg Burger.

“We’re noticing that the international food aspect of our markets is becoming extremely popular,” says Starr. “These days, people come to the markets as much for the food as for the shopping.”
