One of the biggest hits with audiences at this year’s Alliance Français French Film Festival – the latest comedy from Philippe Le Guay (The Women On The 6th Floor), NORMANDY NUDE arrives on local screens later this month.
The irrepressible François Cluzet (The Intouchables, The Country Doctor) plays the mayor of Le Mêle-sur-Sarthe, a charming rural town in Normandy which has hit hard times. Dairy and livestock prices have plummeted due to a flood of imports and farmers are threatened with foreclosure. The national media is uninterested and things seem hopeless… until the day famous American photographer Newman (Toby Jones) passes through the village, inadvertently discovering the perfect backdrop for his next shoot. The mayor sees a rare opportunity, and sets about convincing the townsfolk – the farmers, the butcher, the pharmacist, some 200 in all – to participate. But of course, there’s a catch…
