Burwood gets international hotel
Burwood is home to one of two new IGH Hotels and Resorts properties in Sydney with the opening of Crowne Plaza Sydney Burwood, travel editor Winsor Dobbin reports.
It joins the Holiday Inn & Suites Parramatta Marsden Street.
The openings usher in a new era of hotel accommodation with Crowne Plaza Sydney Burwood marking the introduction of the Crown Plaza brand to the inner west.
Crowne Plaza Sydney Burwood is the brand’s fourth new opening in 2020, following the opening of Crowne Plaza Hobart (July1), Crowne Plaza Sydney Darling Harbour ( September 1) and Crowne Plaza Adelaide (November 1).
The 90-room hotel aims to offer a relaxing oasis in the heart of Burwood, including executive rooms complete with marble flooring, generous living space and modern bathrooms.
The hotel also features a Mediterranean-inspired rooftop with plunge pool and uninterrupted views across the Sydney skyline. Guests will also enjoy a 24-hour gym and meeting and event facilities.
The hotel showcases three dining venues with head chef Alessandro Mandelli at the helm of signature eatery Onyx Grill.
The Artisaint Patisserie offers traditional French pastries, a smorgasbord of meats and cheeses and daily a la carte breakfasts, while Skye Bar on the rooftop is the place to meet and unwind with an expansive cocktail menu, share plates, charcuterie boards and seafood platters.
The Crowne Plaza opens ahead of Marriott International’s Courtyard by Marriott Sydney in Auburn.
The hotels fronts onto Burwood Road. Rooms at Crowne Plaza Sydney Burwood start from $189.00 per night. See here for more info.
