Pride flags flying from council buildings and community centres, messages of support displayed from the windows of local businesses and households, murals painted in rainbow — we at Ciao are loving the how the Inner West community is coming out in full swing to support marriage equality this month, ahead of the national postal survey that’ll be asking you if the law should be changed to allow same-sex couples to marry.
The message is simple: love is love, and rights in society should be distributed to everyone regardless of gender or sexuality. The world will keep turning, just with a little more equality. Kudos to the Inner West for taking the lesson in ‘love your neighbour’ and plastering it on the walls.
