Lonnie Lee is the only star from Australia’s original Rock’n’Roll era to to still be writing, recording and releasing songs, the only one to have his own permanent band, ‘The Leemen’ and the only one performing his own show in the leading venues across Australia.
Lonnie Lee and The Leemen will be playing at the Django Bar of The Camelot Lounge opposite Sydenham Rail Station in Marrickville on Friday August 9th.
The show is to celebrate the CD Launch of his new album, ‘Back to Base X’ which received a 4 star rave review rating in the Sydney Morning Herald on July 6th.
His new songs fit snugly into his 30+ song show, yet they are fresh and new.
His most recent tours have taken him right across Australiain theatres, auditoriums, festivals and clubs. It has seen sell outs at the biggest and best Australian venues, including State Theatre Sydney, Crown Casino Melbourne as well as QPac in Brisbane, Burswood in Perth & Her Majesty’s in Adelaide. Return shows are virtually a guarantee due to the successes.
His show is no tribute show, all the many No 1 hits he sings are his own and they are as popular today as they ever were with both radio and audiences.
He brings back memories to those who were there and creates brand new ones for those who weren’t.
