This Sunday the 30th Festa will be huge! With over 240 food and produce stalls, 120 000 people, communal food table, a mind-blowing car show, antique fair, fashion parades, barista jam, kids activities, rides, a new soccer clinic and much more.
There is something for everyone at Festa. Although we love just meandering, sometimes a little planning can help. Here are some highlights….
HIGHLIGHTS
Football (Soccer) Emporium
This year Festa brings you the best of the boot with a Football frenzy. Activities will be put on by the Canterbury & District Soccer Football Association. This is a chance to get information and advice about starting football. There will fun at the football clinics program, bubble soccer and perhaps you might get to kick a goal with a well-known player.
The Leichhardt Antiques Show
From 11am – 1pm at Pioneers Memorial Park, Raffan Kelaher & Thomas will value your antiques, jewels, silver, toys, decorative arts, collectibles and more. Just bring your trash or treasure down and have your valuables assessed by the experienced team of valuers and auctioneers.
Food
This year’s ever popular cooking demonstrations will focus on regional Italian cooking where Festa visitors can chat with the chefs, learn the secrets of Italian cooking, and have an opportunity to enjoy tastings. The cooking stage will be co-hosted by Enzo Guarino and Danny Trimarchi. In addition to great local Italian chefs Francesco Spataro, Vincenzo Plate, Mauro Bianchi and Luciana Sampogna, other chefs, Danny Trimarchi, Paolo Gatto, Matteo Zambobi, Luca Ciano, and Bryan Gerlini will cook regional Italian dishes from all over Italy; The Italianos – Luciani and Martino – from My Kitchen Rules fame will demonstrate some of their MKR winning dishes; and Executive Chef Oliver Heath from The Garden, Wests Ashfield Leagues Club new ‘fresh produce’ restaurant, will prepare a family favourite lamb dish.
Car Show
Auto Festa will showcase hundreds of vehicles from all the Italian makes, including Fiat, Lancia, Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Lamborghini, Ducati, Moto Guzzi and Vespa.. Here you will find Sydney’s largest collection of Classic, Vintage and Contemporary Italian made motor cars, motorbikes and scooters. Plus the kids (and parents) will love pretending to hoon in some of the classics as well as some of the super vehicles.
